USA Softball of Tennessee is a 501-C4 non-profit affiliate of USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball. USA Softball of Tennessee offers the following services: registration and insurance plans for leagues, teams, individuals, and umpires. We also offer JO player clinics, umpire clinics and schools and we conduct invitational, state and national qualifying tournaments in both, slow-pitch and fast-pitch for men, women and youth girls and boys teams.
ALL TENNESSEE TEAMS MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR USA SOFTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2021 Girls Class A State Championships will be held in Athens at the Regional Park. The 18-16-14U State Tournaments will be June 18-19-20. The 8-10-12U State Tournaments will be June 25-26-27. All teams desiring to attend 2021 USA Softball National Championships are required to participate.

Tommy "Suds" Barrett
On the morning of May 2, 2021, Tommy Lee “Suds” Barrett passed away peacefully at his home comforted by the love of his family.
Suds married the love of his life, Joan Gill, and they were married 58 years until she passed earlier this spring on March 10.
Tommy served as Parks & Recreation Director in Cleveland, Tennessee for thirty-one years. He was appointed, and served four years as Tennessee ASA District Commissioner for District 16, prior to serving as the Tennessee State Commissioner for eighteen years. During these years, more than 1,000 umpires, 1,000 adult teams, and 3,000 youth teams were registered annually. He also served as an ASA national vice president three different times, overseeing the organization’s operations in Tennessee, Georgia, Metro Atlanta, and North and South Carolina. Suds continued to serve USA Softball as a Commissioner Emeritus and a voting member of the National Council following his retirement in 2005, and was inducted into the USA Softball of Tennessee Hall of Fame in 2008. He was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame in 2001 and was a member of the BPOE 1944 and was a proud Mason.
He is survived by his son, Gill (Melissa), and daughter, Anna Jill Barrett, all of Cleveland; brother Walter Alexander “Dub” Barrett, Jr., Mr. & Mrs. Bruce (Pat) Parton; Mr. & Mrs. Wendell (Jimmie) Neeley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held graveside Wednesday, May 5 at 3pm at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeannie Cissom and Rev. Timothy Gann officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 1:00p.m. until 2:30p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel.

USA Softball of Tennessee announced today the following individuals who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in December 2021 in Johnson City. Due to the pandemic, the Class of 2020 will be inducted alongside the Class of 2021. Those to be honored include: Jacky Cagle, East Ridge - Sam Cardwell, Lebanon - R. Lane Easterly, Nashville - Danny Evins, Lebanon - Allen Grisham, Athens - Calvin Harrison, Hixson - Ray Hudgens, Ooltewah and Eddie Litton, Goodlettsville.

A team must register with the local association in which the greatest number of its’ players reside, and this number must be retained for the remainder of the season. IE--if your team is based out of TN but the majority of your players' addresses are in KY, then your team would need to register in KY. If your team plans to play Championship level events (state, nationals, etc) then your team would follow KY qualification process and gain approval from the KY State Commissioner).
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 In order to comply with the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, starting the 2021 season, all players 18 or 19 years old participating in any JO play will be required to complete Safe Sport. In addition; all JO coaches and all umpires working JO play are also required to successfully complete this training.
