USA Softball of Tennessee is a 501-C4 non-profit affiliate of USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball. USA Softball of Tennessee offers the following services: registration and insurance plans for leagues, teams, individuals, and umpires. We also offer JO player clinics, umpire clinics and schools and we conduct invitational, state and national qualifying tournaments in both, slow-pitch and fast-pitch for men, women and youth girls and boys teams.
The 2021 Girls Class A State Championships will be held in Athens at the Regional Park. The 18-16-14U State Tournaments will be June 18-19-20. The 8-10-12U State Tournaments will be June 25-26-27. All teams desiring to attend 2021 USA Softball National Championships are required to participate.

USA Softball of Tennessee announced today that due to the pandemic, the 2021 State Umpire School will be conducted virtually. This year's school is a two part series to be held on Wednesday, February 24 and Wednesday, March 3 at 8:00pm EST / 7:00pm CST. The school is free to all registered umpires. If you have not registered for the 2021 season, please contact your local District UIC to register and take the SafeSport training. This will be required prior to being accepted for the school. "I would like to commend State UIC Ed Rowe and Deputy UIC Dave Swanson for working diligently to develop the virtual training for our umpires. This is a great opportunity for all registered umpires to attend without a fee and without any travel expenses. We encourage everyone to attend." stated Commissioner Ellis. USA Softball of Tennessee has an opening for Junior Olympic Commissioners in the District 17 Memphis and the District 6 Cookeville areas. The position is responsible for promoting youth softball programs including the registration of teams, hosting clinics, tournaments and other events. USA Softball is unveiling a new program (HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM) that will assist in identifying potential players for the USA Softball National Teams and we invite you to participate. Initially, we are inviting potential coaches for U13-U14-U15-U16-U17 and U18 age groups.
We are seeking coaches who are interested in helping young ladies in the above age groups achieve their dreams. The Tennessee program will consist of an East and West division in order to eliminate travel concerns.
The goal is to start the program as soon as possible and we are inviting interested coaches to participate. If interested, please send your name, team name, age group and email address to ellisjmha@charter.net or johnsoncitytnasa@gmail.com.
A team must register with the local association in which the greatest number of its’ players reside, and this number must be retained for the remainder of the season. IE--if your team is based out of TN but the majority of your players' addresses are in KY, then your team would need to register in KY. If your team plans to play Championship level events (state, nationals, etc) then your team would follow KY qualification process and gain approval from the KY State Commissioner).
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 In order to comply with the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, starting the 2021 season, all players 18 or 19 years old participating in any JO play will be required to complete Safe Sport. In addition; all JO coaches and all umpires working JO play are also required to successfully complete this training.
